BitFlip Games Announced
Independent Studio Announces Entrance into the Indie Game Market

El Cerrito, CA – August 6th, 2010 – BitFlip Games announced today it has entered into the software entertainment industry as an independent game developer focused on downloadable titles. BitFlip Games is made up of its three founding members, long time friends, and game industry veterans Guy Somberg, David Steinwedel, and Delaney Gillilan. Together, the team has two decades of game development experience and will deliver unique, fun, high quality titles on a variety of platforms.

Previously, the team has held an eclectic range of positions in and out of the game development industry. For years, Guy and David have provided a one-two, Programmer-Sound Designer punch for top game development studios. Together they shipped Bioshock 2 and Hellgate: London, and worked on both of the highly anticipated upcoming titles XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Mythos.

Before joining up with David, Guy worked with Delaney in the slot video game industry of Las Vegas. Together they created much of Bally’s Alpha Platform and their relationship culminated with the creation of Chess++: The Fog of War for the GameBoy Advance.

“Our goal is to create games that are easy to start but hard to put down.” said Guy Somberg, Co-Founder and Technical Director of BitFlip Games. “We want to connect players with the magical feeling games provide when they reach out and really grab you.”

Inspired by the success of such titles as Torchlight, Castle Crashers, and Tales of Monkey Island, BitFlip is diving in head first and currently developing two unique IP titles. Executive Producer and Co-Founder David Steinwedel said, “We are starting out small, just planting seeds. But we aim to grow into a top tier studio that consistently produces fun games that people fall in love with.”

More information and an announcement about BitFlip’s first title will be coming in the following weeks.
